Contact improvisation is a technique where sensitivity takes one of the biggest role. Where listening is happening at the top speed and being in the moment is crucial for better communication between your own body, other bodies and the space.
In my classes I give a lot of emphasis to “play”, creating a playground, full of tools for new playful explorations.
By activating childlike curiosity, we will strive for effortless, joyful meetings. (experiencing all possibilities and impossibilities within them).
While experiencing movement at the group and collective level (trying to synchronize with other bodies in space), we will strive for self-awareness and individualization of movement.
Main focus in this workshop will be shoulder to hip connection, but also we will look for inverted positions, handstands, rolls, jumps and back space. Sounds like a challenge? Therefore, all stunts will be done in pairs or trios to make them easier to perform and ensure safety;)
In addition to acrobatics, there will be time for dancing, improvisation, stillness and massage.
During the workshop participants will be able to look at principles such as:
Attraction and repulsion // Flow and rhythm // Being in and out of balance // nternal and external synchronization // Spirals, moving in an arc // Connection with and with out touch.
The workshop is for people who are not afraid of challenges and like to move, no matter what level of experience you have.
This workshop is for all levels, but it is not for you if you have never done contact before.
