DIVING INTO CONTACT – a day workshop in Antwerpen 11.7

13Take a deep breath in and dive into Contact Improvisation!

In this workshop we will take our time to arrive into our bodies by diving deep. We connect foremost to ourselves, and to the inside of our bodies through a gentle touch and an open gaze.

Experiencing a deeper understanding of your body will then enable us to stay in touch with ourselves and our partner also when high velocity, speed and reactive mode enter the game. We experience ourselves as embodied movers in a space of change. We share, laugh and play. We welcome ourselves and what might arise fully. We will dive a bit deeper and stay there in comfort.

By diving deep into contact, we can reach new heights. We explore sensing through our skins and breathing into our bones. We end our workshop with a jam, in which we get to explore all the layers of contact. During this workshop, we invite you to heighten the sensitivity of your body. EveryBODY is encouraged to come: from the beginner to the experienced dancer.

100_0921Tom Goldhand will be sharing new techniques and Caroline S’Jegers will gently support you to move out of your thinking, and into your soft contact body!

We look forward seeing you on the dance floor!

He is the co-creator of Ecstatic Dance Amsterdam and owns his own dance school Sadhana Dance in Amsterdam. Tom has been teaching Contact and Dance Improvisation at festivals and workshops for professional and non-professional dancers around Europe.

“For me, Improvisation is a way of life and I try to take it out from the studio and stage into everyday life. I try to look at the world with fresh eyes, to learn all the time, to be in the here and now, to stay in the present.
I believe that the core of man spirit comes from new experiences, and that it is much more important to be open and present, than to make plans and try to stick to them.”

25394_406869316809_3128645_nCAROLINE S’JEGERS has been working as a conscious dance entrepreneur, organizer and facilitator over the past seven years, supporting people from a diversity of cross-cultural backgrounds through the healing power of dance, movement and awareness. Caroline speaks the language of the body and journeys around the world in order to continuously expand her vision and creativity. She is the co-organizer, Dj and dance facilitator of Ecstatic Dance Belgium and teaches her own dance classes Playful Body“.

“For me, improvisation is key to re-creating a life full of beauty and pleasure. Life is an exploration ground in which we can learn to move according to the natural rhythms of life – as it is constantly changing and moving. Dance, touch, play, awareness, breath and contact provide me with safe tools to practice, – so I can connect on a deeper level with myself, the others, my body, everyBODY, the spaces in and around me – and thus: with Life!”
